James Cubitt Architects

James Cubitt Architects (JCA) was established in Brisbane, Australia in 1986 and has successfully delivered projects throughout Queensland, Nationally and Internationally. The practice is independently owned, however  retains ties with James Cubitt offices in the UK, Nigeria, Dubai and Ghana.

JCA is recognised for providing innovative, sustainable design based on exceeding client expectations for each project. A rigorous design approach is applied to all projects, placing great importance on the context in which buildings are located, the way buildings function, how they are made, and the spaces they create.

The office of approximately 15 work in an open studio in a 1890’s Heritage Building in Spring Hill. We recognise staff are one of the offices greatest assets. Through their diversity of experience the practice is able to broaden its design vision and adapt to meet the changing needs of clients.

JCA’s development is characterised by gradual expansion, low staff turnover, careful management of design and a genuine commitment to collaboration with all participants in the design and construction process. Senior staff retain hands-on involvement through all stages of projects. Senior Partners within the practice attend client meetings and lead the project together with the nominated project architect.

The practice has completed Institutional, Education, Civic, Public, Commercial, Health, Research and Residential projects. JCA has enthusiastically adopted Building Information Modelling (BIM) systems over the last 2 years as it recognises an integrated project delivery approach can benefit all parties, especially the client.

Through its long established partnership with Government and University clients the Practice has a strong quality management system (ISO 9001:2008) that is independently audited annually. JCA values its position in the  design and delivery of the built environment and continues to forge a strong reputation within the Construction Industry.
